Charlottesville Settlement Company is seeking a motivated, detail-oriented Settlement Agent / Real Estate Closer to join our team.
This position will be responsible for managing residential and commercial real estate transactions from contract to closing while providing exceptional service to buyers, sellers, real estate agents, lenders, and attorneys.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate and facilitate real estate closings
- Review contracts, title commitments, lender instructions, and closing documents
- Prepare Closing Disclosures, settlement statements, and related closing packages
- Communicate with clients, real estate agents, lenders, attorneys, and vendors throughout the transaction process
- Resolve title and closing issues as they arise
- Ensure files are completed accurately and in compliance with company, underwriter, state, and federal requirements
- Conduct in-person and remote closings
- Deliver a professional and positive closing experience for all parties involved
Qualifications
- Strong organizational and time management skills
- Exceptional attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage multiple files and deadlines simultaneously
- Professional demeanor and customer-service mindset
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office/Outlook and general computer applications
Preferred, But Not Required
- Experience as a Settlement Agent, Closing Coordinator, Loan Processor, Title Processor, Escrow Officer, Real Estate Paralegal, or Mortgage Professional
- Virginia Notary Public commission
- Experience with SoftPro or similar title and settlement software
- Knowledge of title insurance, title commitments, and real estate closing procedures
- Experience conducting residential and/or commercial real estate closings
