Essential Duties And Responsibilities
- Perform PET/CT imaging procedures according to established protocols
- Prepare, measure, and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately
- Ensure patient identification, education, and comfort throughout the imaging process
- Screen patients for contraindications and obtain relevant medical history
- Operate and maintain PET/CT equipment to ensure optimal image quality
- Monitor patients during procedures and respond appropriately to any adverse reactions
- Adhere to radiation safety standards and infection control protocols
- Review images for quality and completeness prior to submission
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare team to support accurate diagnosis
- Maintain accurate documentation and patient records in compliance with regulations
- Perform routine quality control and report equipment issues as needed
- Comply with all organizational policies, regulatory standards, and accreditation requirements
Education/Licensing/Certification:
- Associate Degree in Radiologic Technology
- ARRT
- BLS
- 2 years of Radiology experience
- Knowledge of PET/CT imaging principles, protocols, and equipment
- Understanding of radiopharmaceutical preparation, handling, and administration
- Strong knowledge of radiation safety and protection standards
- Familiarity with cross-sectional anatomy and pathology
- Proficiency in patient positioning and imaging techniques
- Ability to assess image quality and recognize abnormalities
- Knowledge of infection control and patient care practices
- Skill in operating and troubleshooting imaging equipment
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Basic computer skills and experience with imaging and EMR systems
- Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work in a fast-paced environment
- Must be competent with IV skills.
