We are expanding our team and seeking a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Assistant to support our providers and ensure excellent patient care.
Position Summary
The Medical Assistant will play a vital role in both clinical and administrative duties, working closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, and office staff. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, a caring demeanor, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced medical environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Greet and prepare patients for examinations and procedures.
- Record patient histories, vital signs, and update electronic health records (EHR).
- Assist providers during exams, procedures, and minor in-office treatments.
- Prepare, stock, and clean exam rooms and medical equipment.
- Administer injections, collect specimens, and perform basic lab tests (per training and certification).
- Schedule appointments, manage patient flow, and provide instructions for care and follow-up.
- Handle patient phone calls, prescription refill requests, and medical record requests.
- Ensure compliance with infection control and safety procedures.
- Support other administrative and clinical tasks as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
- Medical Assistant Certification
- Previous experience in a medical office or pain management practice is a plus.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (AthenaHealth and eclinicals experience preferred).
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a busy clinic.
