Position Overview
The Medical Assistant supports daily clinical operations and provides hands-on patient care. The ideal candidate has at least one year of recent Medical Assistant experience, strong organizational skills, excellent documentation abilities, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced medical office.
Responsibilities
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs and medical history.
- Assist providers with clinical procedures as directed.
- Support patients with rehabilitation exercises and stretching techniques as directed by the provider.
- Complete accurate patient documentation and charting in the EMR.
- Update and maintain accurate patient records.
- Assist with patient flow and daily clinical operations.
- Prepare, clean, and stock exam rooms before and after each patient.
- Maintain inventory and clinical supplies.
- Follow HIPAA regulations and maintain patient confidentiality.
- Communicate professionally with patients, providers, and team members.
- Address patient questions and concerns, escalating issues appropriately when needed.
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of one year of recent Medical Assistant experience in a physician office or outpatient clinical setting required.
- Experience working in a busy medical office preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation skills.
- Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members.
- Reliable and consistent attendance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Medical Assistant certification preferred, but not required.
- Experience with NextGen EMR is a plus.
- Experience in rehabilitation, physical therapy, chiropractic, orthopedics, sports medicine, or other musculoskeletal healthcare settings is a plus.
