What are the responsibilities and job description for the Nest Floater position at CHARLOTTE LATIN SCHOOL INC?
Charlotte Latin School is hiring a full-time Nest Floater in the infant and toddler classrooms beginning August 3rd, 2026. This individual will assist in managing classrooms effectively with compassion, high energy, attention to detail, organization, and problem-solving strategies. The Nest is open from 7:15-5:45. The position will be 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Meet the individual needs of the children
- Interact with children to support learning through play
- Be willing to learn and use the Conscious Discipline framework for social/emotional development
- Present expectations that are appropriate to the child's age and developmental level
- Provide compassionate care in the areas of feeding, diapering, toilet training, etc.
- Communicate appropriately and professionally with parents and fellow staff
- Participate in staff and training meetings
- Complete annual required training hours as prescribed by the NC Division of Child Development
- Comply with school policies and procedures
- Perform other duties as needed
Supervisory Responsibilities
- None
Education and Experience
- Hold NC Early Childhood Credential or be willing to attend EDU 119 class.
- One year of teaching experience with children ages 0-5.
Ongoing Requirements
- State and Federal Background checks are required at time of hire and every five years.
- Annual Health Questionnaire
- Health and safety training upon hire and every five years
- Education documentation submitted to the NC Division of Child Development and Early Education
