Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Experience of at least three (3) years in a reasonable capacity using customer service skills and Microsoft Word and Excel skills and one (1) year of hands-on purchasing experience for a government agency or private company
- Knowledge of computer data entry and word processing for purchasing and warehousing activities

Persons hired under this job description who subsequently earn the National Contracts or Procurement Certification may qualify for a salary adjustment.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assists in the evaluation of various equipment, supplies and services in product areas, as assigned.
- Assists in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with sales representatives.
- Assists in working with departments and schools to identify purchase needs in product areas, as assigned.
- Assists in developing specifications and drafts the following solicitations with assistance: request for quotations (RFQs), invitations to bid (ITBs), Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and Invitations to Negotiate (ITNs). May serve as the (usually non-voting) evaluation committee chair for RFPs and ITNs.
- Orders supplies and equipment in product areas, as assigned.
- Assists in purchase order follow-up and expediting of orders in product areas, as assigned. Reviews purchase orders and attached contractual binding documents to ensure it complies with Federal, State, District and local procurement regulations, policies and procedures. Any document with extensive terms and conditions should be escalated to supervisor.
- Maintains regular review of Material Control System reports for all warehouse supplies, as assigned.
- Assists in keeping our term contracts current and responsive to District needs.
- Coordinates the preparation and maintenance of the warehouse catalog, as assigned.
- Electronically accesses multiple service and supply catalogs and specifications from on-line sources. Such catalog and specifications can be provided to end-users to help them development their statement of work and/or specifications.
- Assists in the coordination of the annual warehouse inventory, as required.
- Maintains current knowledge of developments in the area of responsibility.
- Maintains effective working relationship with other employees.
- Assists in performing cost and price analysis that can withstand outside audit.
- Assists in preparing agenda items to the School Board.
- Trains individuals in best procurement practices to include post award practices.
- Participates in local and regional procurement conferences.
- Anticipates future challenges and advises supervisor.
- Performs other job-related functions as may be assigned.
