Intensive Paraeducator (Anticipated, Up to 1.5 FTE) Needed
Location: Charlotte Central School

Charlotte Central School (CCS) is seeking energetic and collaborative professionals to join our special education team as an Intensive Paraeducator (Anticipated, Up to 1.5 FTE) starting FY27. We have one 0.5 FTE opening and one anticipated 1.0 FTE opening. Successful candidates will be skilled, caring individuals dedicated to providing intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum (or curriculum overlapping), communication, behavior, and activities of daily living. In this role, you will work across our Pre-K to 8th grade school settings to support student independence and ensure the smooth functioning of academic programs.
Primary Responsibilities
- Implementing and supporting elements of student instructional and behavioral plans under the direction of licensed professionals.
- Integrating communication and behavioral interventions into various classroom and school-wide settings.
- Fostering student independence to ensure full participation in all school activities, promoting growth in every interaction.
- Assisting with activities of daily living, which may include personal care and physical support.
- Collaborating as a positive team member with teachers, specialists, and families to ensure instructional continuity.
- Supervising students during assigned duties, which may include lunch, recess, transitions, and potentially supporting students on the bus ride to or from school.
- Maintaining professional integrity by carrying out school and district policies and advocating for inclusive education.

- A problem-solving approach and a flexible nature when navigating the diverse needs of students in a Pre-K through 8th-grade environment.
- The physical ability to meet the requirements of the job, including lifting as needed to support student safety and care.
- Exceptional patience and poise when guiding students through daily school activities and transitions.
- A persistent willingness to learn and adapt to new instructional strategies or behavioral supports.
