Autism/Behavior Specialist (Anticipated) Needed
Location: Charlotte Central School

Charlotte Central School (CCS) is seeking an energetic and collaborative professional to join our special education team as an Autism/Behavior Specialist (Anticipated) starting FY27. The successful candidate will be a skilled, caring individual dedicated to providing intensive support in the areas of multi-layered curriculum, communication, behavior, and activities of daily living. In this role, they will work under the supervision of a licensed professional to support the overall smooth functioning of academic programs and student independence.
Primary Responsibilities
- Developing, implementing, and evaluating elements of student instructional and behavioral plans.
- Integrating instructional, behavioral, and communication interventions into the classroom setting.
- Fostering student independence to ensure full participation in all school activities.
- Collecting, maintaining, and interpreting student data for educational personnel.
- Collaborating with staff, families, and related service providers to ensure instructional continuity.
- Supervising students during assigned duties, including lunch, recess, and transitions.
- Carrying out school and district policies with high levels of professional integrity.
The Ideal Candidate Will Possess
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build professional rapport and serve as a dedicated advocate for students.
- An understanding of Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA).
- Exceptional organizational skills and a flexible, problem-solving approach to supporting student needs.
- The ability to promote child growth and a persistent willingness to learn and adapt.
- Demonstrated poise and patience when guiding students through daily school activities.
- A commitment to the CVSD mission and the development of a safe, inclusive, and welcoming environment.
