Peer Specialist

Sign-on Bonus: $500

• Assists in the operation and maintenance of the SHARE Spot drop-in center.
• Engage members in conversation and support.
• Assist in development and provision of groups, explaining the purpose and activities.
• Provide support in the planning, coordinating, and implementation of an activities program to meet the diverse need of the members.
• Ensure a non-judgmental, supportive atmosphere is maintained for all.
• Conveys hope to members about their own recovery.
• Recognizes when to share experiences and when to listen to members.
• Supports members to set goals and to dream of future possibilities.

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Peer Support Specialist certification or ability to become certified within one (1) year of employment.
• Ability to pass a level II Background clearance and drug test. 
• Valid FL drivers’ license, insurance, and safe driving record. 
• CBHC New Hire Orientation (NHO) completed within first two (2) months of employment.
• Must maintain high standards of ethical and professional conduct, while adhering to agency policies and procedures.
• Ability to use a computer.
• Attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, in collaboration with other community partners.
• Ability to manage stressful situations and display appropriate work demeanor and boundaries.
• Ability to demonstrate excellent customer service. 
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods. 
• Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle in all driving conditions.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds.
