Patient Care Coordinator / Chiropractic Assistant
Location: Charleston Chiropractic Associates, 903 St Andrews Blvd Ste B, Charleston, SC 29407
Schedule: Approximately 35 hours per week during standard business hours, with some time before opening or after closing as needed for opening, closing, and patient care responsibilities.
Pay: $18 to $25 per hour, based on experience
Charleston Chiropractic Associates is hiring a Patient Care Coordinator / Chiropractic Assistant for our growing chiropractic office in West Ashley.
This role may be a good fit for candidates with experience as a Patient Care Coordinator, Chiropractic Assistant, Medical Front Office Receptionist, Healthcare Front Desk Coordinator, Dental Front Office Assistant, or Administrative Assistant in a healthcare setting.
This front desk and patient support role includes scheduling, insurance verification, patient payments, billing follow-up, patient communication, care plan support, and daily administrative support. We are looking for someone who is organized, dependable, professional, and interested in a long-term position.
Our office is patient-focused, professional, and busy. This is not just a reception role. The front desk sets the tone for the patient experience, supports the doctor’s recommended care plans, and keeps the office running smoothly.
The position is currently based at our West Ashley office. As the role and practice grow, candidates should be open to occasionally working from a secondary office location within approximately 10 to 15 miles.
Responsibilities
- Greet and check in patients
- Answer phones and schedule appointments
- Verify insurance benefits
- Collect patient payments
- Assist with patient intake and paperwork
- Schedule follow-up visits based on the doctor’s recommendations
- Help patients stay consistent with recommended care in a professional, patient-centered way
- Follow up on insurance payments, patient balances, and billing questions as needed
- Handle patient information with accuracy, discretion, and HIPAA-compliant confidentiality
- Communicate professionally with patients, insurance companies, and team members
- Keep the front desk and office organized
- Support patient flow throughout the day
- Assist the doctor with therapies as needed
- Help create a positive, professional patient experience
Required Experience and Traits
- Healthcare, chiropractic, dental, or medical front office experience preferred
- Experience with insurance verification, patient payments, billing follow-up, scheduling, or patient accounts strongly preferred
- Comfortable speaking with patients about balances, insurance questions, payment follow-up, and recommended follow-up care
- Understands the importance of patient confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
- Reliable, punctual, and looking for a long-term role
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to keep the front desk moving without constant direction
- Friendly and professional with patients in person and over the phone
- Comfortable multitasking in a busy office
- Comfortable learning EHR / EMR systems and office software
Schedule
- Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday: Full-day schedule
- Wednesday and Friday: Half-day schedule
- Approximately 35 hours per week
