Charles County Government's Recreation, Parks and Tourism Department - Parks Division is seeking a dynamic Assistant Park Manager with daily park operations and maintenance at designated Park facilities. This position supervises and leads part time staff in the performance of park maintenance and athletic field preparation.
- Prepares and manages athletic fields for daily use and special events.
- Performs general park maintenance and cleanup.
- Assist with concessions operations including preparing orders, restock food, and monitors inventory.
- Prepares daily cash deposits, deposit reports, concession inventory reports and makes bank deposits.
- Assess, maintains, and repairs park equipment and prepares work request.
- Maintains playgrounds, athletic fields, facilities, trails, and other areas.
- Conducts park safety inspections and provides athletic field usage reports.
- Participates in hiring, training, and scheduling of part time staff.
- Serves for Park Manager as assigned.
- Performs other related job duties as assigned.
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or an acceptable equivalency diploma (GED). Four (4) years of experience; or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and training.
Licenses or Certifications:
Must possess a valid driver's license.
Special Requirements/Qualifications:
Subject to work beyond the normal scheduled hours of work.
Subject to call back in emergencies.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is regularly active with periods of heavy exertion. Typical positions require workers to walk or stand for long periods; lift and carry up to 100 pounds; climb stairs, ladders, and scaffolding; bend, kneel, crouch and crawl; reach, hold, grasp, and turn objects; feel the size, shape, and temperature of items; and use fingers to operate computer or typewriter keyboards. The work requires the ability to speak normally, to use normal or aided vision and hearing, and to detect odors.
