POSITION:
Early Childhood Special Education Teacher Assistant
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Associate's Degree in a related field.
- Minimum 1-3 years' experience working with students, preferably students with disabilities
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- As directed by the teacher, provide developmentally appropriate instruction within the daily routine.
- Assist in preparation and organization of instructional materials
- Implement behavior support plans for students with significant behavior challenges which can result in the student displaying physically aggressive behaviors towards self or others
- Assist students in meeting their immediate self-care needs related to feeding, toileting, and hygiene
- Implement strategies to support students with severe language impairments including modeling the use of assistive technology
- Demonstrate the ability to keep all information regarding a student and their family confidential
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions
- Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Other responsibilities as assigned at the direction of the supervisor.
