POSITION:

School Psychologist

CERTIFICATION:

Certification and licensure as a school psychologist in the State of Ml

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience working with students of various ages and disabilities.
• Experience in administering and interpreting a variety of assessments.
• Ability to work with students, teachers, school administrators, parents, and community agencies in a positive manner
• Ability to communicate the impact of disabilities on access to the general curriculum
• Demonstrate knowledge and ability to develop student intervention plans
• Demonstrate knowledge of federal and state special education laws and other legal aspects of the role of the school psychologist

JOB FUNCTION:

• Consult with teachers, support personnel, parents, and community agencies on intervention strategies
• Attend building level meetings to assist with implementation and evaluation of intervention plans
• Support building MTSS efforts (academic and behavioral, Tiers 1-3) and support district efforts to build, expand, and sustain MTSS implementation
• Facilitate REED and eligibility recommendation meetings in a collaborative manner, including meeting mechanics and data
• Administer assessments to determine academic skills, learning aptitude, adaptive and functional performance, and social-emotional development
• Work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to prepare reports that clearly summarize evaluation data and provide recommendations for special education eligibility
• Provide and support crisis intervention and response
• Promote positive behavior and mental health i.e., collaborate with community services provided in schools and/or connect families with community service providers
• Performs other special assignments at the direction of the Supervisor.
