Description
K-12 Music or Art Related Teacher (Requires valid Michigan teaching certificate with preferred JX/JQ/ or LX/LQ/LZ endorsement or the ability to obtain one of these endorsements within one year)
Qualifications/Requirements:
- Must hold a valid Michigan teaching certificate with appropriate endorsement(s)
- Have successful teaching experience with students of all abilities;
- Have demonstrated a passion for working with children;
- Be eager and willing to work cooperatively with school staff and parents, and to continue learning to develop as a professional educator;
- Have knowledge and skill in designing and implementing learning goals and experiences for students, documenting learning progress, and using technology for data gathering, instruction, and communication;
- Evidence of good interpersonal skills with parents, colleagues & administration.
Responsibilities:
- Provide high quality instruction that supports and aligns with the district’s educational vision and mission;
- Facilitate an environment that fosters the learning of all students;
- Remain knowledgeable of educational standards and strategies to meet the academic, developmental and social emotional needs of students;
- Assess and modify instructional practice leading toward increased student achievement;
- Evidence of flexibility, adaptability and problem solving;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills;
- Willingness to learn new skills and acquire new knowledge.
