ACCOUNTANT
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or business administration preferred
- Minimum 1 – 3 years’ experience in accouting or school / government audits.
- MSBO Certificate Preferred
JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Assists in preparing and maintaining financial statements, journal entries and reports
- Assists in coordinating and preparation of the annual independent audit of financial operations, procedures and policies
- Assist Business Manager in preparation of budget related to expenditures, as requested
- Assists to process regular and special accounts payable weekly and/or bi-weekly runs, as necessary
- Assists to process Purchase Orders, as necessary
- Assists to process 1099’s annual for calendar year-end reporting
- Assists in managing vendor and employee inquiries regarding payment of invoices
- Completes financial month-end, fiscal-year end, and calendar-year end reporting
- Ensure transactions are properly recorded and entered into accounting system
- Ensures general ledger is maintained accurately for final reporting purposes
- Maintain files of paid and unpaid invoices and purchase orders
- Maintain vendor files with current forms W-9 and Direct Deposit, Contracts
- Prepare information in response to requests for payment histories
- Prepares budget reports for supervisors, as necessary
- Process cash receipts entry for cash and electronic deposits, at least minimum
- Process accounts receivable billings, as necessary
- Review, process and pay all authorized vendors. Ensure timely entry of data in automated systems
- Participate in meetings, workshops, and seminars for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions.
- Predictable, reliable, and punctual attendance.
- Other responsibilities as assigned at the direction of the Supervisor or Superintendent.
