We are seeking a knowledgeable and proactive Environmental Manager with experience in a manufacturing or industrial services environment to lead our environmental compliance efforts. This role focuses on ensuring the company remains compliant with all applicable environmental regulations while supporting site operations that include the repair, cleaning, fabrication, and engineering of industrial components such as motors, pumps, heat exchangers, radiators, and condensers.
This position supports a diverse client base in industries such as oil & gas, petrochemical, and power generation. The ideal candidate has a strong working knowledge of OSHA, TCEQ, STEERS, RCRA, and other relevant environmental compliance frameworks. A working understanding of safety practices is beneficial.
 
 
DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES
Lead and manage all environmental compliance programs and documentation to ensure adherence to federal, state, and local regulations, including EPA, TCEQ, RCRA, and OSHA.
Act as the primary liaison with regulatory agencies; manage site inspections and audits with a readiness mindset.
Manage STEERS reporting, waste manifesting, and air/water/waste permits, ensuring all required reporting is accurate and timely.
Oversee and coordinate environmental testing and sampling activities (air, water, soil) with clear understanding of the why, when, and how behind each method.
Conduct environmental impact assessments related to plant operations, including materials handling, chemical use, waste streams, and emissions.
Develop and maintain environmental recordkeeping systems, ensuring documentation is audit-ready at all times.
Provide training and guidance to operations teams on environmental best practices and compliance expectations.
Support safety efforts as needed, including hazard identification, reporting, and promoting safe environmental procedures.
Assist in the investigation and mitigation of environmental incidents or non-conformances, ensuring root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Stay informed on new and changing regulations, proactively updating internal procedures as necessary.
 
 
 
QUALIFICATIONS / REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, or related field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
5 years of experience in an environmental management role in a manufacturing or industrial services setting.
Demonstrated expertise in working with OSHA, TCEQ, STEERS, RCRA, and relevant local, state, and federal environmental compliance standards.
Experience supporting environmental compliance in regulated industries (e.g., oil & gas, petrochemical, power generation).
Strong understanding of environmental testing methods and objectives.
Effective communicator, comfortable interacting with operations teams, regulators, and executive leadership.
Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to compliance and documentation.
Safety experience or certifications (OSHA 10/30, HAZWOPER) is a plus, but not required.
Preferred Certifications (a plus, not required):
Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM)
HAZWOPER 40-Hour
OSHA 30-Hour
TCEQ Wastewater or Stormwater Certifications
