Seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer to lead the design, development, and implementation of complex electrical systems in industrial and plant environments. This role is ideal for a technically strong engineer who enjoys owning projects from concept through execution, mentoring junior engineers, and serving as a trusted advisor to clients.
You will play a key role in ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and in full compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop electrical distribution systems.
- Perform and coordinate power system studies, including:
- Load flow
- Voltage drop
- Short circuit analysis
- Lighting calculations
- Ensure installation and operations align with project specifications, codes, and customer standards.
- Prepare electrical system specifications and technical drawings using AutoCAD and/or Revit.
- Develop circuit designs, electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, conduit layouts, and equipment schedules.
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including design files, submittals, and O&M manuals.
- Prepare engineering reports and compile data for both existing and proposed projects.
- Lead engineering projects and guide project teams as required.
- Interface directly with clients to scope work, manage deliverables, and support proposal development.
- Provide technical input to marketing and business development efforts when needed.
- Perform additional engineering-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering from an accredited institution.
- Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. If not currently licensed in Texas, ability to obtain licensure within 36 months of employment.
- 5–10 years of professional experience in an industrial plant, engineering firm, or consulting environment.
- Experience with 480V, 5kV, and 15kV systems preferred.
- High to Medium-voltage MCC controls design experience preferred.
- Working knowledge of engineering standards including NEC, NESC, NEMA, IEEE, ANSI, NFPA, API, and ICC.
- Proficiency with engineering software such as SKM, ETAP, or EasyPower.
- Experience with relay programming (SEL) preferred.
- Strong computer proficiency and technical documentation skills.
