Direct Care Staff - Overnight

Changing Options has been a staple in the Ramona area for nearly 40 years We pride ourselves in offering quality and lasting mental health care to individuals with a variety of mental health diagnoses, including schizophrenia, depression, bipolar disorder, borderline personality disorder and more. We offer a home like an environment in which we provide home-cooked meals, psychoeducational and social groups, and community outings with staff.
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Care Staff to join our overnight team. In this role, you will provide essential support and care to individuals with varying needs, helping them achieve their personal goals and maintain their independence. You will work closely with clients in a home or community setting, ensuring their well-being and enhancing their quality of life.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Conduct hourly rounds of the facility to know the whereabouts of our clients and ensuring their safety.
- Complete routine cleanings of the common areas, hallways, and restrooms to provide the clients with friendly and welcoming home-like environment.
- Observe and document important client behaviors to provide the clinical team with pertinent information regarding care and well-being.
- Awareness or willing to learn Community Care Licensing regulations and/or know how to access the regulations that apply to operations and safety.
- Implement Changing Options procedures and practices.
- To respond to crisis in a professional manner that promotes safety for the residents and staff, and to manage personal reactions in a professional manner.
- Any other unforeseen responsibilities that may arise as a result of providing safe and therapeutic care to the Clients.
Qualifications:
- Must be 21 years old or older.
- Valid CA Driver's License and at minimum 3 years driving record to be able to qualify for insurance.
- Criminal record clearance by being fingerprinted prior to reporting to work and signing a statement regarding criminal convictions.
- Pass a physical exam and TB test.
- Visual and auditory ability to observe critical incidents and the physical ability to act swiftly in an emergency.
- Current or will need to obtain CPR/AED and First Aid, both Adult and Infant/Child, certification required and must be from one of the following certifying organizations: American Red Cross, American Heart Association or American Safety & Health Institute
- Must be able to lift to up to 25 pounds
- Ability to stand, walking, climbing, pushing, pulling, lifting, sitting.
