Job Summary
Join our dynamic team as a Registered Behavior Technician (RBT), where you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, including autism spectrum disorder. As an RBT, you will deliver evidence-based behavioral interventions under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). Duties
- Implement individualized behavior intervention plans based on principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA) to promote skill development and reduce challenging behaviors.
- Collect accurate data on client behaviors, progress, and responses during therapy sessions to inform ongoing treatment adjustments.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), such as grooming, dressing, eating, and toileting, to enhance independence.
- Support clients in developing communication skills through various teaching strategies tailored to their needs.
- Maintain detailed and compliant medical documentation, including progress notes, care plans, and behavior logs, following HIPAA regulations.
- Collaborate with the supervisory BCBA and multidisciplinary team to review client progress and modify intervention strategies accordingly.
- Foster a positive, patient-centered environment that encourages growth and confidence for individuals with autism and other developmental disabilities.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and ethical standards related to behavioral health, patient care, and medical records management.
Skills
- Strong foundation in behavioral therapy techniques and principles of applied behavior analysis (ABA).
- Experience working with children or individuals with developmental disabilities, especially autism spectrum disorder.
- Proficiency in assisting with activities of daily living (ADLs) and implementing behavior management strategies.
- Excellent teaching abilities with a focus on skill acquisition and behavior reduction.
- Skilled in data collection methods to track client progress accurately and efficiently.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, medical documentation practices, and HIPAA compliance to ensure confidentiality and proper recordkeeping.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team-oriented environment focused on behavioral health goals.
