JOB TITLE: IT FIELD SERVICES TECHNICIAN
CALENDAR: 2611 (12 MONTHS)
SALARY: GRADE 116 (SUPPORT HOURLY)
Job Goal
Install, configure, troubleshoot, and service computer systems and connected devices using
processes that comply with district standards and security policies.
Minimum Qualifications
- CompTIA, A , or CCNA certification is preferred
- High school diploma or equivalent plus college-level courses in computer technology, personal computers, operating software, and basic electronics
- Knowledge and understanding of computers (Windows and Apple), related peripherals, and basic operating principles
- Working knowledge of LAN/WAN components, usage, basic operating principles, and network printing
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to troubleshoot and correct operational problems involved with computer hardware and software
- Ability to analyze difficult and complex operations
- Valid Arizona Driver’s license: may need a personal vehicle to travel between sites
- Ability to communicate and work effectively with staff and the public
- Knowledge of and adherence to all policies, regulations, and rules
- Strong documentation and communication skills
Core Job Functions
- Diagnose and troubleshoot network, hardware, and software problems with individual user equipment
- Install, test, and configure new hardware and software systems, peripherals, and equipment
- Train users in the use of hardware and software
- Diagnose equipment and printer failures, replace defective components in the field if possible, or return to the shop for repair, install loaner equipment, return, and reinstall repaired equipment.
- Maintain accurate records of work processes, work completed, inventory control, and asset management tracking.
- Respond to customer service requests and dispatch
- Update existing security software on networks and workstations
- Move, add, and change computer and telephone equipment
- Perform imaging and installation procedures as outlined by the IT Team and related duties as requested
- Perform all duties safely and prudently as directed

Physical Requirements - Heavy Work
- Required physical actions include stooping, kneeling, crouching, standing, walking, sitting, finger or manual dexterity, repetitive finger motion, speaking, hearing, seeing (with correction), and focusing ability.
- Mobility and lifting require employees to stand and walk constantly on various floor surfaces. They must be able to use a push/pull force of up to 50 pounds for machines and lift items up to 30 pounds. Items over 50 pounds require a second staff member to assist.
- Occasional tasks may require an employee to climb ladders for cleaning or maintenance.
- Environmental exposures may include travel, fumes, odors, chemicals, bloodborne pathogens, workspace restrictions, and loud noises.
