Job Summary
FWS Receiving Assistant provides operational support related to property and materials receipt and delivery; staffs Receiving desk at Pecos campus; accepts deliveries from shipping carriers and verifies order documentation; scans packing slips; helps deliver packages to departments; empties shred bins; helps collect surplus equipment from departments and loads truck for deliveries to District Surplus.

In order to qualify for a Federal Work-Study (FWS) job, a FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) must be on file for the current award year and have eligible financial needs based on the college requirements. Please contact the Office of Financial Aid for more information prior to applying to a Federal Work-Study job.
- FWS is a need-based, federally funded program.
- FWS requires the completion of a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and confirmation of federal work-study eligibility as determined by the financial aid office.
- FWS does not directly pay for tuition, and funds are only available to eligible students attending a minimum of six (6) degree applicable hours in a federal student aid eligible program.
- The FWS award amount is based on your FAFSA results and college funding availability, which will determine the number of hours available to work while supporting the students academic goals.

Positions in this class typically require: kneeling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, talking, hearing, seeing and repetitive motions.
Medium Work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in both the field and in an indoor office environment with moderate exposure to intense noise or travel.
