Duties
- Supervise and engage children in age-appropriate activities that promote learning, creativity, and social skills
- Implement early childhood education principles to support developmental milestones in infants, toddlers, preschoolers, and children with special needs
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all children by adhering to health and safety protocols, including first aid procedures when necessary
- Manage classroom routines such as meal times, nap schedules, and transitions with patience and consistency
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians about children's progress, behaviors, and any concerns
- Maintain a clean, organized environment conducive to learning and play
- Collaborate with colleagues to develop individualized care plans for children with disabilities or special education needs
Experience
- Prior experience working with children in daycare settings, preschools, or as a nanny or babysitter is highly valued
- Knowledge of childhood development stages and best practices in early childhood education
- Hands-on experience with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies
- Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; ongoing training in special education or working with individuals with disabilities is a plus
- Familiarity with infant care routines, toddler care practices, and preschool curriculum implementation
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of diverse backgrounds and abilities
- Experience in caregiving roles that require patience, adaptability, and strong communication skills
