Job Summary

Under the guidance of the Resident Services Manager, assists in planning, facilitating, and implementing activities across campus. Helps organize, set up/break down, and host daily, weekly, and monthly events all aimed at engaging residents and meeting their creative, social, physical, spiritual, and emotional needs.

  • Monitors for potential safety issues and follows all safety procedures to ensure the safety of residents, employees, and This includes monitoring for trip hazards, using verbal cues to prevent collisions, and using the appropriate PPE when working with chemicals and cleaning agents.
  • Participates in the development and design of activities with the department manager and the rest of the team in the following categories: physical fitness, education, wellness, recreation, social, spiritual, seasonal, and off-campus outings to various locations as well as individual, small, and large group
  • Brings energy to the activities on campus and champions the efforts of the department, working as part of a team to enrich the lives of the residents.
  • Posts the planned activities schedule and notifies residents and staff of schedule changes as is appropriate to ensure clear communication.
  • When assigned: plans, reserves, sets up, and hosts various activities and events. Schedules and coordinates with other personnel and departments for all activities and off-site Breaks down and stores all activities-related equipment and/or furniture upon completion of each activity.
  • Helps to schedule and confirm guest presenters for special events, including informational and educational programs for the residents.
  • Provides feedback to the department manager regarding resident participation and level of interest in
  • Takes regular/scheduled inventory of supplies and equipment for the department manager. With approval from the department manager, purchases decorations, supplies, and equipment for activities, following budgetary guidelines. Safely stores supplies and equipment when not in use.
  • Monitors and reports changes or concerns regarding residents observed during activities, events, and
  • Maintains a pleasant and efficient work environment showing a responsiveness to residents, employees, and guests. Displays a willingness to assist co-workers and provide a caring home environment for the residents. Communicates activity and care information to the residents and their families in a mature and professional manner.
  • Keeps resident information confidential; respects resident rights; respects resident
  • Follows budgets as directed by the department
  • Assists residents with walkers and/or wheelchairs from their apartment and This may include loading walkers and wheelchairs into a vehicle, pushing residents up ramps, down sidewalks, etc.
  • Assists in transporting residents to medical appointments, social outings, shopping trips, and other activities. Completes daily Driver’s Vehicle Inspection report and submits it weekly to the department manager, if applicable.
  • Performs cooking demonstrations for residents based upon activity
  • Attends and participants in in-service training sessions and other programs that will promote professional growth and understanding of federal, state, local, and organizational policies and regulations. Must participate in, and satisfactorily complete, all initial and annual training.
  • Follows all SV policies and procedures including, but not limited to, safety, infection control, privacy, confidentiality, and the reporting of elder abuse.
  • May be required to have mandatory overtime to meet staffing needs or to work shifts different from those regularly scheduled.

License, Education, and Experience Requirements

  • Current First Aid
  • Current, valid State driver’s license and clean driving
  • One year of related experience and/or

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • Fluent in

The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds unassisted and will occasionally lift and/or move more than 50 pounds with the assistance of a co-worker or a lifting device.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
