We are currently seeking an experienced Quality Manager to join our growing team!
General Function:
Reporting to the Engineering Vice President, the Quality Manager is responsible for ensuring manufactured products meet the established standards of quality including reliability, usability and performance set by Chance Rides, LLC, customer specifications, and industry standards. The Quality Manager typically performs the duties listed below but is not limited to them.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide high energy leadership of, and mentorship for, quality team members while building a collaborative relationship with other departments
- Manage the implementation of the quality management system
- Ownership of the Quality Manual and related policies and procedures
- Manage and maintain required documentation for quality records
- Audit and assist training shop personnel and vendors ensuring work is being performed and documented to requirements
- Manage the quality team, conduct annual performance reviews, and promote continuous improvement
- Oversee the inspection of incoming vendor components and internally manufactured parts
- Disposition rejected parts (NCMR) and document corrective action (CAR) in ERP system
- Review and approve Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) for finished rides
- Follow industry and government regulations concerning amusement ride manufacturing
- Work with state inspectors and ride safety officials to maintain required documentation of Chance built amusement rides
- Develop and track key quality performance metrics and processes
- Identify and implement productivity projects offsetting inflationary pressures
Preferred Education & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, quality management, or related technical field
- 3 years of prior supervisor experience, with 10 years working in a quality role
- Certified Weld Inspector (CWI) preferred or willingness to obtain CWI certification through training paid by Chance Rides
- Experience in implementing and directing a quality management system (TQM, Six Sigma, ISO, TS, Kaizen, etc.) in a manufacturing environment
- Must have strong leadership skills combined with team building and problem solving
- Experience with performing quality transactions and reports in an ERP system
- Demonstratable translation of quality system requirements into real world management and value add execution
- Must have a good understanding of budgets, business management and customer-supplier relationships
- Experience in automotive, heavy equipment, or aerospace quality systems a plus
- Experience with product safety a plus
- Knowledge of amusement ride operations, maintenance, AIMS, or NARRSO are preferred although not required
- Able to communicate effectively in both verbal and written communication
- Adequate computer skills including spreadsheet and word-processing applications
