Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role offers an opportunity to work with diverse clients, including corporate and non-profit organizations, utilizing advanced accounting software and concepts. The position requires a solid understanding of GAAP, general ledger management, and financial reporting.
Duties
- Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities including accounts payable and receivable, bank reconciliations, and journal entries
- Perform general ledger accounting and account reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare financial statements, balance sheets, and other reports in accordance with GAAP standards
- Utilize accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial tools to record transactions
- Conduct payroll processing and tax-related tasks as required
- Assist with budgeting, financial analysis, and account analysis to support organizational decision-making
- Ensure compliance with governmental accounting regulations and standards for non-profit or corporate entities
- Maintain detailed documentation of all financial activities and support audits as needed
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software including QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, Quicken, and other financial management tools
- Strong understanding of GAAP principles and double-entry bookkeeping practices
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and account reconciliation processes
- Knowledge of public accounting practices, governmental accounting standards, and tax regulations
- Ability to perform journal entries accurately and efficiently
- Familiarity with accounts payable/receivable processes and payroll management
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data and prepare comprehensive reports
- Strong organizational skills including 10 key typing proficiency for data entry tasks
- Effective communication skills for financial report writing and collaborative work environments
