School Nurse Needed (0.5 FTE, One-Year, 2026-2027)

Location: Champlain Valley Union High School

Champlain Valley Union High School (CVU) has an opening for a Faculty School Nurse (0.5 FTE, One-Year) for the 2026–2027 school year.

Primary Responsibilities

• Provide direct student health care services including assessment, first aid, health screening, medication administration, and care for students with special needs.

• Assist in communicable disease control and conduct immunization assessments.

• Compile statistical information, maintain health and medication records/logs, and complete accident reporting and required state reports.

• Serve as an active member of student support teams and update student health emergency information.

• Provide interpretation of health information to staff and parents, communicate school health policies, and share pertinent health resource information to promote a healthy school environment.

The Ideal Candidate Will Possess

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).

• Current, valid license issued by the Vermont Board of Nursing.

• Hold or be eligible for Vermont Department of Education endorsement as a school nurse.

• CPR certification.

• Preferred background in community/family-centered nursing experience.

• Proficiency in technology, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Slides).
