Responsibilities

• Lead a variety of camp activities including sports, arts and crafts, theater, and outdoor adventures to ensure participants are engaged and having fun.
• Supervise children during all camp activities, ensuring safety protocols are followed at all times.
• Manage group dynamics with effective classroom management and behavior management techniques to promote respectful interactions.
• Provide first aid when necessary, maintaining calmness and professionalism in emergency situations.
• Support children with special needs or those requiring additional assistance by implementing individualized strategies aligned with childhood development principles.
• Collaborate with fellow counselors and staff to plan daily schedules, coordinate events, and ensure a smooth camp operation.
• Foster a positive environment rooted in respect, inclusivity, and encouragement that supports the social and emotional well-being of all campers.

Skills

• Strong classroom management skills to maintain order while encouraging creativity and independence.
• Experience in working with children across various age groups, including early childhood education or daycare settings.
• Knowledge of child development principles to tailor activities appropriately for different age levels.
• Ability to administer basic first aid and respond effectively to emergencies or behavioral issues.
