Duties
- Perform thorough cleaning of floors, restrooms, offices, and common areas using appropriate cleaning equipment such as floor buffers and scrubbers
- Handle chemical agents safely, following all chemical handling safety procedures to ensure a secure environment
- Conduct sanitation tasks including trash removal, dusting, window cleaning, and disinfecting high-touch surfaces
- Maintain floors through buffing, polishing, and proper care techniques to ensure a polished appearance
- Assist with light maintenance tasks such as minor repairs or painting to support overall facilities upkeep
- Operate cleaning equipment efficiently while adhering to safe lifting practices during heavy lifting or manual handling tasks
- Follow safety protocols consistently to prevent accidents and ensure compliance with health and safety standards
Qualifications
- Prior janitorial or custodial experience in commercial or industrial settings is highly preferred
- Knowledge of cleaning techniques, floor care, and sanitation procedures
- Experience handling chemical agents safely and understanding chemical safety protocols
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks including heavy lifting with proper safety practices
- Strong customer service skills to interact professionally with staff and visitors when needed
- Familiarity with cleaning equipment such as floor buffers, vacuums, and other custodial tools
- Basic maintenance skills including minor repairs or residential painting are a plus
