Champaign Park District – Part-Time 2, Non-Exempt (not to exceed 19 hours per week on average)

The Special Interest Instructor plays a key role in delivering engaging, high-quality classes in their area of expertise for participants of all ages. This role allows you to make a direct impact in the community by creating positive learning experiences while representing the Champaign Park District with professionalism and enthusiasm.
Summary of Responsibilities
- Plan, prepare, and lead instructional classes following approved curricula and schedules
- Develop and submit program outlines at least two weeks prior to class start
- Assist with class descriptions for promotional materials
- Maintain accurate attendance, program documentation, and incident/accident reports
- Communicate schedules, changes, and cancellations clearly and timely to participants
- Create and maintain a clean, organized, and safe instructional environment
- Purchase, maintain, and ensure safe use of program supplies and equipment
- Build positive relationships with participants, parents, staff, and the public
- Distribute and complete program and instructor evaluations as requested
- Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development sessions
- Follow all safety, confidentiality, equal opportunity, and harassment prevention policies
- Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:- Must be at least 18 years of age
- Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the subject area being taught
- Ability to plan and lead age-appropriate instructional activities
- Prior instructional or teaching experience
- Ability to communicate effectively and maintain positive working relationships with Park District staff, participants, and the public
- Ability to comply with Park District policies and procedures
- Required certifications relevant to the program area, if applicable (may be required prior to hire or obtained after hire)
Salary : $18 - $28
