What are the responsibilities and job description for the Family Advocate - Urbana position at Champaign County Regional Planning Commission?
RPC's Early Childhood Education Center is currently seeking a Family Advocate to join our TEAM! This position provides family support and child health services to families with children from birth to 5 years-old. Champaign County RPC is a people-focused agency made up of over 100 programs designed to generate possibilities for all within our community. - Bachelor’s degree in Social Services or Human Development required or Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of Case Management experience.
- Ability to fulfill DCFS requirements for personnel, including a physical exam, immunizations and a criminal record check
- Ability to engage families in services for themselves and their child, maintain records of services provided, and support family-identified goals
- Experience working with a population
- Basic computer competency
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to travel to home visits, trainings and meetings.
- Ability to lift children up to 60 pounds in an emergency.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
- Prior experience with working with children in an early childhood program is preferred. Applicants with prior early childhood experience will be given priority within the applicant process.

Hours: 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. (M-F)
Starting Hourly Wage:
$19.58 - $20.60 (Family Advocate Credential)
$20.60 - $21.64 (AA)
$22.88 - $23.91 (BA)
$24.62 - $25.65 (MA)
DOQ (Depending on Qualifications)
