Duties
- Assist with the setup and cleanup of construction sites, ensuring a safe and organized work environment
- Operate hand tools, power tools, and heavy equipment such as concrete mixers, concrete pumps, and saws to support various construction tasks
- Perform heavy lifting of materials like rebar, concrete forms, roofing materials, and framing components
- Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings to accurately carry out construction plans
- Install rebar, formwork, metal stud framing, drywall, stucco, tile, flooring, and other building components
- Conduct concrete pouring, finishing, cutting, and surface treatments to achieve smooth and durable surfaces
- Follow all safety protocols related to construction workplace safety regulations; wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times
Skills
- Strong mechanical knowledge and familiarity with construction estimating processes
- Proficiency in blueprint reading and interpreting technical drawings or schematics
- Experience with concrete forming, pouring, finishing, cutting, and pumping techniques
- Knowledge of heavy equipment operation including forklifts or cranes (preferred)
- Skilled in using hand tools such as hammers, saws, drills; adept with power tools for various applications
- Ability to perform masonry work including bricklaying or stucco application; experience with roofing or restoration projects is a plus
- Understanding of construction site safety regulations; committed to maintaining a safe work environment at all times
- Capable of heavy lifting and physically demanding tasks; comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Familiarity with carpentry disciplines such as trim carpentry or frame carpentry; experience with metal stud framing is advantageous
- Ability to interpret construction plans accurately; skilled in schematics reading for precise execution of tasks
