A.G. Gaston Construction is supporting the development of a large-scale AI facility in
Birmingham, Alabama. This multi-year construction program will support a workforce of up
to 1500 personnel onsite and requires highly coordinated site services and logistics to
maintain daily operations.
This role operates in a fast-paced, active construction environment where real-time
coordination, responsiveness, and attention to detail are essential.
Role Summary
The Project Site Laborer will support daily operations across our job site. This position plays
a key role in keeping the site secure, organized, and running smoothly. Responsibilities
span three core areas: gate entry validation, site cleanup, and general office assistance.

Key Responsibilities
Gate Entry & Validation
- Monitor and manage site entry points to ensure only authorized personnel and vehicles access the job site
- Check credentials, badges, or approved entry lists for all incoming workers, vendors, and visitors
- Log daily entry and exit of personnel and vehicles in written or digital records
- Communicate with supervisors regarding unauthorized access attempts or security concerns
- Maintain a professional and courteous demeanor when interacting with workers and visitors at the gate
Site Cleanup
- Perform routine cleanup of job site areas including work zones, walkways, break areas, and perimeter
- Collect, bag, and properly dispose of trash, debris, and construction waste
- Sweep, rake, or pressure wash surfaces as needed to maintain a safe and presentable site
- Ensure all waste is sorted and disposed of in compliance with site and environmental guidelines
- Alert supervisors to any hazards, spills, or conditions requiring immediate attention
Office Support
- Assist office staff with day-to-day administrative tasks such as filing, copying, sorting, and organizing documents
- Greet and direct visitors or vendors arriving at the site office
- Help manage supply inventory and notify staff when materials or office supplies need restocking
- Run errands and deliver documents or materials between the office and job site as needed
- Answer phones or take messages when directed by office staff
- Support data entry or recordkeeping tasks with accuracy and attention to detail
Required Experience in Similar Environments
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills — this role involves regular interaction with workers, visitors, and staff
- Ability to remain attentive and professional during gate monitoring duties
- Comfortable performing light to moderate physical labor, including standing for extended periods and lifting up to 40 lbs
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow both written and verbal instructions
- Basic computer and phone skills for office support tasks
- Must be able to work outdoors in various weather conditions
Preferred Experience
- Previous experience in security, customer service, or administrative support
- Experience with basic data entry or recordkeeping
- Valid driver's license
- Experience working onsite in large-scale construction or infrastructure projects
Education
- High school diploma required

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
