This role serves as a critical bridge between architectural design and construction execution, supporting projects from schematic design through construction administration. What You Will Be Accountable For
- Assist Lead Designers in developing conceptual and schematic architectural designs
- Translate design concepts into design development and construction documents
- Apply architectural techniques to interpret design intent during project development
- Develop preliminary building plans and documentation for client review
- Research and evaluate building materials, systems, and technical solutions
- Lead architectural coordination during the design development phase
- Assist with delegation and oversight of tasks across the architecture and engineering production team
- Coordinate closely with architects, interior designers, engineers, and external consultants
- Manage design documentation quality and ensure alignment with project schedules
- Guide production teams through design development and construction documentation phases
- Serve as a point of contact with clients during the design development process
- Participate in owner meetings to review design progress and plan development
- Attend and present at plan commission or municipal review meetings
- Provide design recommendations that align with client goals and project budgets
- Review due diligence materials, including surveys, soils reports, and environmental documentation
- Evaluate building systems and assist with material selection
- Review submittals, RFIs, and substitution requests
- Conduct construction observation through site visits or project documentation
- Coordinate with consultants and external partners to maintain documentation accuracy
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced architectural staff
- Support collaborative design and technical problem-solving across project teams
- Assist leadership in maintaining quality control across project deliverables
- Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
- 5 years of architectural experience with progressive project responsibility
- Strong proficiency in AutoCAD and Revit (production experience in an office environment)
- Demonstrated ability to translate architectural concepts into construction-ready documentation, interpret technical documentation such as ALTA surveys, soils reports, safety rules, and product specifications, Manage multiple projects while maintaining strong attention to detail, and communicate effectively with clients, consultants, and internal teams.
- Strong organizational, time management, and problem-solving abilities
- Experience working within commercial, retail, office, or financial institution project environments
- Architectural Registration (Licensed Architect)
- Experience within design-build environments
- Familiarity with SketchUp, Adobe Photoshop, and Microsoft Project
- Experience coordinating consultants, vendors, and multidisciplinary project teams
- Exposure to construction administration and site observation
