Position Description
PLEASE NOTE: The Rising Scholars program serves incarcerated students at the California Institution for Women (CIW) and the California Institution for Men in Chino (CIM). Courses are taught in person at these state prisons. Being able and ready to work onsite at these facilities is an essential function of this job. Chaffey College is seeking applicants for the adjunct faculty pool in the Academic and Career Counseling Department. All applicants are expected to meet the California State Community College Minimum Qualifications for Counselors (below). Meeting the minimum qualifications does not guarantee employment or an interview.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's in counseling, rehabilitation counseling, clinical psychology, counseling psychology, guidance counseling, educational counseling, social work, career development, marriage and family therapy or marriage, family and child counseling; OR
The equivalent; AND
Demonstrated evidence of sensitivity to and understanding of the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, gender identity, sexual orientation, and ethnic backgrounds in a community college environment. (NOTE: A Bachelor's degree in one of the above listed degrees and a license as a Marriage and Family Therapist (MFT) is an alternative qualification for this discipline.)
MEETING MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS DOES NOT ASSURE THE CANDIDATE OF AN INTERVIEW. Applications will be evaluated taking into account the breadth and depth of relevant education, experience, skills, knowledge and abilities.
