Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Bookkeeper to manage financial records and ensure accurate accounting practices for our organization. The ideal candidate will have a strong background and experience in various accounting software. This role involves maintaining general ledger accounts, reconciling financial statements, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and supporting overall financial reporting to ensure compliance and operational efficiency.
Responsibilities
- Maintain and update the general ledger using accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Perform bank reconciliations and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial data
- Prepare journal entries, including debits & credits, for various accounting transactions
- Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes efficiently
- Conduct balance sheet reconciliation and general ledger accounting tasks regularly
- Assist with payroll processing and related tax filings
- Support budgeting activities and financial report writing for internal and external stakeholders
- Perform account analysis to identify discrepancies or irregularities in financial data
- Assist in audit preparations and coordinate with external auditors when necessary
Skills
- Proficiency in accounting software such as QuickBooks.
- Strong understanding of corporate, non-profit, governmental, and public accounting practices
- Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation
- Ability to perform journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation accurately
- Familiarity with payroll processing and tax experience related to payroll taxes
- Excellent understanding of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and financial report writing
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks such as accounts payable/receivable, budgeting, and account analysis
- 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry
- Attention to detail in account reconciliation and general ledger management
- Effective communication skills for preparing clear financial reports and collaborating with team members
