Our client, a large nationwide financial services organization, is building out its internal data and infrastructure capabilities and is seeking a MS SQL DBA (Junior) to join their growing team. This is a great opportunity for someone with 2-5 years of experience in DBA career who has strong SQL fundamentals and is looking to grow into a well-rounded database professional within a stable, enterprise environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Support and maintain Microsoft SQL Server environments across production and non-production systems
• Write, optimize, and troubleshoot T-SQL queries, stored procedures, and scripts
• Assist with database performance tuning, monitoring, and maintenance
• Support backup, recovery, and patching activities
• Partner with development and infrastructure teams to ensure database reliability and performance
• Participate in on-call rotation and production support as needed
• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of database processes

Top Requirements

• 2–3 years of experience working with Microsoft SQL Server (open to strong junior candidates with ~1–2 years)
• Solid understanding of relational databases and data structures
• Hands-on experience with T-SQL (queries, joins, stored procedures)
• Exposure to database performance tuning and troubleshooting
• Basic scripting experience (PowerShell or similar is a plus)
• Familiarity with tools such as SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) and/or Visual Studio

Nice to Have

• Exposure to Azure or cloud-based database environments
• Experience supporting databases in an enterprise or regulated environment (financial services a plus)
• Background in roles such as Data Analyst, Data Engineer, or Developer transitioning into DBA
