The Senior Superintendent - Traveling is a senior field leadership role responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of large, complex, or multi-site construction projects across multiple geographic locations. This role provides strategic onsite leadership, ensures projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with company standards, and serves as a key liaison between project teams, subcontractors, owners, and internal leadership. The first project assignment for this role will be a senior living project located in Indiana.
The Traveling Senior Superintendent leads and mentors superintendents and field staff, drives consistency in field operations, and supports workforce planning and development across projects. This position requires extensive travel and the ability to mobilize quickly to support new project starts, high-risk projects, or projects requiring senior-level field oversight. The Senior Superintendent - Traveling is expected to model the company’s safety culture, operational excellence, and leadership values while delivering exceptional project outcomes in diverse locations.

Position responsibilities:
· Creates and maintains project schedule, plans, monitors and reviews critical path dates and milestone schedules
· Communicates site problems, conflicts, schedule, and quality issues effectively to the Project Manager
· Manages the day-to-day activities of the construction operation; creates daily job reports
· Understands all contractors’ scopes; assures contractors maintain schedules, and quality standards meet contract requirements
· Assists with contractor disputes, quality control and schedule coordination
· Participates in the negotiation of claims and changes
· Verifies that products and methods used meet or exceed project specifications
· Maintains open communication between all contractors to ensure all required materials, equipment, inspections, etc. support project activities and project schedule
· Monitors contractor compliance with project safety program requirements
· Provides input to cost and schedule forecasts; verifies work progress
· Implements and leads CG Schmidt Safety and Quality Control Programs
· Performs project close-out and ensures punch list is completed in a timely manner
· Secures job site at all times; on call 24/7 as needed for emergencies
· Assists the Project Manager with Change Order review
· Communicates and reinforces the Company vision, values, and goals
· Participates in local business development efforts
· Helps build CG Schmidt Field Operations
