Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage federal, state, and local tax compliance, ensuring accurate and timely filings.
- Lead tax planning and strategy initiatives while identifying opportunities to optimize the organization's overall tax position.
- Research and interpret changes in tax laws and regulations and communicate their impact to executive leadership and key stakeholders.
- Partner with accounting, finance, and operational teams to ensure accurate tax reporting and compliance.
- Manage relationships with external tax advisors, auditors, and regulatory agencies as needed.
- Review tax provisions, reconciliations, and supporting schedules to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards.
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency, strengthen internal controls, and improve tax reporting.
- Support special projects, acquisitions, business initiatives, and other strategic activities from a tax perspective.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to accounting and finance team members while promoting a collaborative, high-performance environment.
- CPA certification required.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive tax experience, preferably with a combination of public accounting and private industry experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
- Strong knowledge of federal, state, and local tax regulations and compliance requirements.
- Proven experience with tax planning, research, compliance, and tax strategy.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to clearly explain complex tax matters to both financial and non-financial audiences.
- Creative, strategic thinker with the ability to identify innovative solutions to complex tax and business challenges.
- Highly collaborative and able to build strong relationships with cross-functional teams and executive leadership.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Excel and tax/accounting software systems.
- Base Salary: $120,000 – $150,000
