Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support the full month-end close process, including journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and financial reporting
- Analyze manufacturing costs, product margins, labor, overhead, and material variances
- Prepare and review costing and variance reports to identify trends and areas for improvement
- Partner closely with operations, purchasing, and production to understand financial results and cost drivers
- Assist with inventory accounting, standard costing, and inventory reconciliations
- Monitor actual versus budgeted costs and investigate significant variances
- Maintain accurate general ledger accounts and supporting schedules
- Assist with financial statement preparation and management reporting
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting
- Support annual budgeting, forecasting, audits, and other financial analysis as needed
- Provide timely and accurate financial information to accounting and operational leadership
- 3 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing or marine environment
- Strong understanding of cost accounting, margins, and variance analysis
- Demonstrated experience with month-end close and general ledger accounting
- Understanding of manufacturing operations, inventory, labor, overhead, and product costing
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
- Strong Excel skills and the ability to work with ERP/accounting systems
- Ability to communicate effectively with both accounting and operations teams
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred
