Staff Accountant Responsibilities

A growing financial institution is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This position will support daily accounting operations including ACH processing, reconciliations, wire transfers, month-end close, and general ledger maintenance. The role will also assist with regulatory compliance and provide support across the accounting department as needed.
Staff Accountant Responsibilities
- The Staff Accountant will process ACH transactions, exceptions, and return items
- Handle reconciliations and maintain general ledger accounts
- Assist with incoming/outgoing wire transfers and account research
- The Staff Accountant will support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end closing activities
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure compliance with regulations and GAAP
- The Staff Accountant will cross-train and assist with additional departmental functions as needed
- 3 years of accounting or financial institution experience preferred
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is a plus
- Knowledge of GAAP principles
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills
- Organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Salary : $50,000 - $65,000
