Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed account reconciliations, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
- Support the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring financial information is complete and accurate.
- Prepare and maintain deferred revenue schedules and accounting entries, ensuring revenue is recognized appropriately.
- Prepare detailed financial statements, management reports, and supporting schedules.
- Analyze general ledger activity and ensure transactions are properly recorded and classified.
- Utilize Excel extensively for financial analysis, reconciliations, reporting, and data validation.
- Assist with accruals, journal entries, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, and other accounting functions.
- Research and resolve accounting discrepancies while maintaining accurate supporting documentation.
- Assist with audit requests and provide detailed schedules and documentation as needed.
- Collaborate with internal departments to gather financial information and ensure accounting accuracy.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and efficiency.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- 2–5 years of accounting experience in a Staff Accountant or similar role.
- Strong understanding of general accounting principles and financial reporting.
- Demonstrated experience with deferred revenue accounting.
- Strong background performing high-volume and detailed account reconciliations.
- Advanced or highly proficient Microsoft Excel skills, including formulas, lookups, pivot tables, and financial data analysis.
- Experience preparing detailed financial statements and supporting schedules.
- Exceptional attention to detail with a strong commitment to accuracy.
- Ability to analyze financial information, identify discrepancies, and independently resolve issues.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively across departments.
