About The Institution Seeking a Senior Accountant
- Serving a diverse population, including non-traditional students, this educator has been operating for over fifty years
- They offer over 20 separate programs and have a high population of students who live in Boston
- Focusing on student accounts, this position will be the right hand to the Accounting Manager
- The organization prides itself on promoting from within
- Lead month-, quarter-, and year-end close including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial schedules
- Prepare and review journal entries for deferred revenue, prepaids, accruals, and reclassifications
- Oversee the month-end reconciliation package and review documentation
- Manage treasury accounting and banking, including ACH, check, and wire review
- Prepare audit schedules and provide supporting documentation
- Identify, propose, and implement process improvement according to GAAP and institutional standards
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or experience equivalent ( 4 years)
- 3 years of accounting experience, with at least 1 year in a senior role
- Strong systems skills required with an ability to pick up new software
- Experience in complex nonprofit organizations preferred but not required
