Senior Accountant Key Responsibilities
- Manage and support month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities
- Prepare and review journal entries, account reconciliations, accruals, and supporting schedules
- Analyze general ledger activity and investigate variances, discrepancies, and unusual transactions
- Prepare financial statements, management reports, and ad hoc accounting analyses
- Maintain accurate accounting records in accordance with GAAP and company policies
- Partner cross-functionally to gather financial information and resolve accounting issues
- Support accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, prepaid expenses, and other general ledger activities
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting processes
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, strengthen controls, and increase efficiency
- Support internal and external audits by preparing schedules and documentation
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
- 5–8 years of progressive accounting experience
- Strong understanding of GAAP, general ledger accounting, reconciliations, and month-end close
- Advanced Excel expertise – modeling, data manipulation, pivot tables, lookups, and complex formulas
- Experience with ERP/accounting systems; SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, or similar preferred
- Naturally curious with strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter who takes initiative without needing significant direction
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Comfortable researching issues, working through ambiguity, and building processes from scratch
