Key Responsibilities of the Revenue Cycle Specialist
- Manage Medicaid and electronic billing processes, including preparing and submitting monthly invoices to funding sources as the Revenue Cycle Specialist
- Reconcile expected revenue using Excel and/or electronic health record systems by applying contract terms, procedures, and coding knowledge as the Revenue Cycle Specialist
- Research, correct, and resubmit denied or rejected claims while completing follow‑up and collections through payer portals, email, and phone as the Revenue Cycle Specialist
- Review Explanation of Benefits (EOBs), identify discrepancies, and ensure accurate claim resolution as the Revenue Cycle Specialist
- Communicate professionally with internal teams, payers, and agencies to resolve billing inquiries and maintain clean accounts as the Revenue Cycle Specialist
- 3 years of medical billing experience with strong Medicaid exposure
- Working knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD‑10, EOBs, and healthcare billing regulations
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, formulas)
- Meaningful work supporting children and families through mission‑driven healthcare services
