This role oversees grant accounting, reporting, budgeting, and reconciliation activities while working closely with program managers and finance teams to ensure accurate tracking and utilization of grant funds.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage accounting functions for government-funded grants, including tracking expenditures, revenue recognition, and grant reimbursements.
- Prepare and submit financial reports required by federal, state, and local government agencies.
- Monitor grant budgets, analyze spending activity, and identify variances or compliance issues.
- Perform account reconciliations and maintain accurate grant-related financial records.
- Ensure compliance with grant agreements, government regulations, and audit requirements.
- Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of supporting documentation.
- Review invoices, purchase orders, and expense reports for allowability and proper allocation of grant funds.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- 3 years of accounting experience, with prior experience managing government grants preferred.
- Knowledge of federal/state grant regulations and compliance requirements.
- Experience with grant reporting, budgeting, reconciliations, and financial analysis.
- Strong understanding of GAAP and government accounting practices.
- Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
- Experience working with government agencies, municipalities, higher education, healthcare, or nonprofit organizations.
