GL Accountant

Position Summary

A growing organization is seeking a detail-oriented accounting professional to support daily accounting operations and financial reporting activities. This role is responsible for general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, journal entries, and assisting with month-end close processes. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of accounting principles, and the ability to thrive in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and reconcile various balance sheet and income statement accounts
• Reconcile multiple cash and bank accounts
• Prepare journal entries and maintain accurate general ledger activity
• Analyze account activity to ensure financial accuracy and completeness
• Support month-end close procedures and related reporting activities
• Assist with audit requests and preparation of supporting documentation
• Maintain and update accounting procedures and process documentation
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
• Participate in cross-functional training and team support initiatives
• Assist with special projects and additional accounting duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field required
• 5 years of accounting experience with strong general ledger exposure
• Working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills with the ability to analyze and present financial data
• Experience with ERP systems; Oracle experience preferred
