The Director of Finance is a key member of the Administration & Finance Leadership Team, responsible for overseeing citywide financial operations, ensuring accuracy and consistency across departments, and delivering timely, insightful reporting to support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage all financial operations, including budgeting, reporting, and compliance across multiple departments
- Supervise and develop Department Finance Directors, ensuring strong execution of accounting processes and internal controls
- Oversee month-end and year-end close, audit coordination, and regulatory reporting
- Drive financial strategy through budgeting, forecasting, performance metrics, and enhanced reporting tools
- Partner with leadership to improve transparency, efficiency, and data-driven decision-making across the organization
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master’s and/or CPA preferred
- Proven experience in finance leadership, ideally within government or complex, multi-entity organizations
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and internal controls
- Demonstrated ability to lead teams, implement process improvements, and manage cross-functional initiatives
- $150,000 salary
- Fully onsite position based in South Bend, Indiana
