CFS is partnering with a mission-driven organization to hire a Staff Accountant in Somerville, MA. This is a full-time, on-site opportunity (5 days in office) offering up to $90,000, excellent benefits, and the chance to make a meaningful impact in the nonprofit space.

Position: Staff Accountant

We are seeking a dedicated Staff Accountant to join a collaborative finance team within a well-established nonprofit organization. The ideal Staff Accountant will bring strong accounting fundamentals and hands-on nonprofit experience to support day-to-day financial operations and reporting.

Responsibilities Of The Staff Accountant

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries for the Staff Accountant role
• Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
• Reconcile bank and balance sheet accounts
• Support grant tracking and reporting requirements
• Assist with preparation of financial statements
• Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards (GAAP)
• Collaborate with internal teams and external auditors
  
  

Requirements For The Staff Accountant

• MUST HAVE nonprofit accounting experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 2 years of accounting experience
• Strong knowledge of GAAP
• Experience with accounting software and Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
