Job Summary:
The RN Supervisor is responsible for providing clinical leadership, supervision, and support to the nursing staff within the correctional healthcare setting. This role ensures that daily operations run efficiently, nursing practices meet all regulatory and facility standards, and patient care is delivered safely and effectively. The RN Supervisor assists in staffing, training, performance oversight, and coordination of care while serving as a clinical resource to the team.
Duties / Responsibilities:
- Supervises nursing staff, including daily assignments, scheduling, and oversight of clinical responsibilities.
- Ensures nursing care is delivered in accordance with CFG Health, custody, and regulatory policies and procedures.
- Provides clinical guidance and serves as a resource to nursing and support staff.
- Conducts routine rounds to monitor workflow, patient care delivery, and adherence to protocols.
- Assists in training, onboarding, and competency validation of new and existing nursing staff.
- Monitors quality of care, identifies areas of improvement, and participates in CQI activities.
- Delegates tasks appropriately according to staff scope of practice and facility requirements.
- Responds to medical emergencies, supervises care, and ensures accurate documentation.
- Reviews nursing documentation for accuracy and compliance.
- Coordinates with HSA/DON on staffing needs, performance concerns, and operational issues.
- Supports medication administration workflows, ensuring compliance with facility and safety standards.
- Ensures proper communication between shifts through handoff reports and documentation.
- Participates in multidisciplinary team meetings as required.
- Assists with audits, inspections, and compliance reviews.
- Maintains accurate incident, sick call, and operational records as assigned.
- Promotes a safe, secure, and therapeutic environment for patients and staff.
- All other duties as assigned.
Minimum Education
- Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (ASN or BSN required; BSN preferred).
- Current, unrestricted RN license in the state of employment.
Minimum Work Experience
- Minimum of two (2) years of nursing experience (correctional, emergency, acute care, or similar preferred).
- Prior supervisory or charge nurse experience strongly preferred.

- Excellent verbal and written communication.
- Ability to work collaboratively with custody, medical, and mental health teams.
