Role Profile: Double Action Press Metal Stamper / Operator
Key Responsibilities
- Press Operation & Set-Up: Set up, calibrate, and operate double-action mechanical or hydraulic stamping presses to draw, form, and stamp complex deep-drawn metal components.
- Tooling & Material Handling: Load raw strip metal, sheet metal, or coils into press feeds; align, inspect, and adjust die sets, punches, and blank holders.
- Quality Assurance & Inspection: Perform inline dimensional checks against blueprints and engineering drawings using micrometers, calipers, height gauges, and optical comparators.
- In-Process Monitoring: Observe press operations (tonnage, stroke, lubrication, and die clearance) to ensure consistent part quality and protect tooling from damage.
- Troubleshooting & Maintenance: Perform routine press maintenance, check lubrication levels, and identify tool wear or misalignment during production runs.
Typical Job Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience: 2 years of experience operating double-action presses in a precision metalworking environment.
- Technical Skills:
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical specifications.
- Familiarity with precision measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, pin gauges).
- Understanding of metal draw ratios, blanking, forming, and material characteristics (brass, stainless steel, aluminum, copper).
- Physical & Work Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, perform material coil changes, and work on-site in a precision manufacturing facility.
Compensation & Benefits (Regional Standards)
